COPENHAGEN! JULY 13-19, 2019

Your introduction to Copenhagen starts with its heart – centuries old buildings surround canals, royal palaces and the spine of Copenhagen which is the pedestrian precinct of “Strøget.” There is an incredible range of architecture within a small area, renaissance, medieval, baroque, Dutch style and the ultra modern architecture with glass and steel. The drive will also take you past the world-famous Tivoli Gardens, the inspiration for Walt Disney, before driving by Christiansborg Palace, built on the site of the earliest fortifications of the city dating back to 1167, and now the seat of the Danish Parliament.

July 13: When you arrive at Kastrup airport a private transfer will take you to the historic 5 star  D’ Angleterre Hotel.  You will be spending the day at your leisure or you can stretch the legs and begin to explore this wonderful City before joining us for a Welcome Cocktail Reception with Key Culinary Tours. Dinner and evening at your pleasure.

July 14: A 5 hour city tour of Copenhagen including the Little Mermaid, Gefion Fountain and Rosenborg Castle. You will also attend a Smørrebrød Course  where you will prepare your own smørrebrød and then have it for lunch! But be sure to save room for your 3 course dinner (including 3 glasses of wine) at Brd. Price at Rosenborggade in the evening.

July 15: The day will start with a private food tour at Torvehallerne with aquavit making/tasting. We will walk  leisurely pace through the oldest parts of Copenhagen, the new Market Halls and visit trendy eating places while hearing stories of the history and daily life of the city.  Lunch includes water and samples of organic cheeses, apple wine, a “Bornholmer” plate (mustard, crackers, juice, candies), 4 types of open faced sandwiches, 3 tap beers, an organic hotdog, bonbons, and flødebolle.  All together – it’s a FULL lunch meal! You will also be able to make your own “Aquavit” with herbs you pick from the market while learningthe history of the Danish aquavit.  Dinner will be a 3-5 course with wine in a private home prepared by your own Chef!

July 16: The journey continues with a full day trip to North Zealand with visits to Kronborg and Frederiksborg Castles.  We will also take a walk in the old Marked town Helsingør, where you will get a good feel of “everyday life” in a Danish town and enjoy a 3 course lunch at Restaurant Sletten in Humlbaek.  After returning to the hotel for a break dinner will be at restaurant Taarnet (3 courses and 3 glasses of wine).

July 17: The day starts with a tour of the idyllic  12th century Dragør Fishermans village followed by a stop at Denmarks oldest candy maker in Copenhagen,  Sømods Bolsjer in Nørregade.  Lunch will be 2 courses at restaurant Kanalen in Christianshavn.  Dinner is at restaurant Fiskebaren at Kodbyen in Vesterbro. Yes, dinner 3 courses and 3 wines!

July 18: Spend your morning at your leisure exploring or shopping just a bit more and then meet us in time for a 2 course lunch at restaurant Väkst. After lunch you will have the opportunity to make your own Flødebolder!  Dinner wil be a 4 course menu (including 3 glasses of wine) at Restaurant Barr.

July 19: Private transfer will take you from the hotel to the airport or you can continue with private arrangements.  Just let us know if you would like any Pre or Post travel arrangements within Europe so that we can build your own personal itinerary.

Tour price $7,000.00 USD: includes hotel, transfers, most meals, drinks and tours. It does not include air travel to/from Copenhagen, nor gratuities to the tour guide or driver. This is a private tour and limited to 12 guests.

ANDALUSIA – SPAIN! SEPTEMBER 25 – OCTOBER 3, 2019

Your introduction to Andalusia starts in Sevilla followed by Jerez, Vejer, Cadiz, Malaga and Granada! Andalusia is a region that spans almost the entire south of Spain and is bordered to the west by Portugal. The Province of Cadiz, at the very tip of Spain lies the British overseas territory of Gibraltar where it is separate from North Africa by just a few miles.
It is a region of contrasts: ancient cities and deserts, amazing beaches along the Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz and the Sierra Nevada mountain range where the highest mountain in Spain is found and also the most southerly ski resort in Europe.

September 25: When you arrive at Seville airport a private transfer will take you to the new Gran Melia Colon Hotel for a 3-night stay. Each floor celebrates a different Spanish artist, from El Greco to Goya, with masterful reproductions of their greatest works incorporated into the décor. In a city known for its splendor, the hotel is located in the heart of the city, in the shopping area and 5 minutes walking distance from the most important monuments and attractions in Seville. You may spend the day at your leisure OR you can stretch the legs and begin to explore this wonderful City before joining us for a Key Culinary Tours Welcome Cocktail Reception with drinks and aperitifs. Then it’s off for a stroll around the historical downtown with your private guide before heading to dinner at Seville’s best and most surprising fish restaurant. It is a quaint, intimate place with live cooking in front of our guests! (Tasting menu & drinks)

September 26: In the morning you will be transported to one of the best privately owned olive estates in Andalusia. The manager will take you a guided visit of the estate while you learn about the production of one of the finest extra virgin olive oils in Spain. Included is a private tasting of their olive oils and lunch outdoors at the estate where a private chef will cook a paella and show you how it is done and prepared. You will wrap up the evening with a stroll through downtown, a VIP Flamenco show at Museo del Flamenco and a gourmet tapas & wine tour around ‘oldtown’ with a foodie expert. Seville is home of tapas and the tour will focus on local products, wines and vermouth. (Lunch, tapas & drinks)

September 27: A daytrip with your private guide will be spent in Aracena, home of the finest Iberico ham in Spain! In the morning it’s a visit to a local small factory to learn all about Iberico ham including the proper way to cure and taste it. Lunch will be at a charming secret gem restaurant with exquisite local cuisine in a very small village close by. Sunset brings a private boat for a ride on the Guadalquivir River at sunset. Cocktails, a selection of Andalusian gourmet products will be part of the on-board dinners served on the upper outdoors deck. (Lunch, dinner, wines, cocktails, tastings)

September 28: OFF TO JEREZ & VEJER! While on your way to Vejer there will be a stop in Jerez de la Frontera, home of sherry wine and pure breed Spanish horses. At on of the most secluded sherry houses in town, a sherry educator will show the secrets of sherry, one of the most complex wines in the world. Tasting will include VORS (Very Old Rare Sherries) and then it’s lunch at an off-the-beaten-path surprising restaurant you will love! In Vejer you will be staying 2-nights in a charming boutique hotel, El Califa. Dinner that evening will be in the hotels Moroccan-style restaurant. (Lunch, dinner, wines, tastings)

September 29: Time for a day-trip to the city of Cadiz. After a private guide takes you on a tour of the downtown and aperitifs in the local market you will have lunch & drinks while overlooking the sea. Dinner will be served at a beachfront restaurant while enjoying the sunset over the waters. (Lunch, Dinner, drinks)

September 30: Off to Malaga! On the way you’ll stop in Bolonia to see the seaside Roman ruins and have lunch in Tarifa (the southern-most point in Spain). You will see the Moroccan coast, pass by Gibraltar & head into Costa del Sol on your journey. Your 3-night stay in Malaga will be at the historic and luxurious Gran Hotel Miramar which faces the Mediterranean Sea with amazing views over the bay. The Malagueta beach is across the street and the hotel is just a short distance to the city’s top museums such as Picasso, Carmen Thyssen, Centre Pompidou and Hermitage. The hotel rooms are decorated in three different styles, Arabic, classic and Mediterranean. Once checked in you will have free time to enjoy the city and guidance on where to find the best tapas dinner. (Lunch, drinks)

October 1: Your private guide will take you on a daytrip to Granada and a tour of the infamous Alhambra followed by a walking city tour and lunch. (Lunch, Dinner, drinks)

October 2: Time to begin saying farewell, but not before a gourmet lunch in the mountain region where a secret country retreat awaits for an amazing private lunch overlooking the mountains! (Lunch, Dinner, drinks)

October 3: Transfer to Malaga airport or train station so you can come home and tell all your friends what a amazing adventure you had!
