Tommy Bahama: The Brainchild & The Brand

These days, most folks are familiar with the Tommy Bahama clothing line and their tropically upscale retail stores.  And many of those folks are also familiar with Tommy’s line of home goods and furniture.  But not everyone knows that Tommy Bahama also has an exclusive chain of about 20 restaurants nationwide.  And St. Armands Circle in Sarasota is a fortunate and proud host to one of their perfectly breezy eateries.

Founded in Naples, FL, this upbeat island outfitter kept the momentum of the brand booming by adding a similarly-themed dining entity.  While there are a few locations in Florida, you can’t find these restaurants just anywhere.  Some of the restaurants are within the retail stores themselves, ours on St. Armands is located in a separate, 2-story Bahamian-style building with lively seating anywhere you land.  And as far as the cuisine and cocktails, well, they easily mimic Tommy Bahama’s low-key, high-end reputation.
