Key Culinary Tours was thrilled to take part in a tour and reception at Drum Circle Distillery here in Sarasota this afternoon. The maker of award-winning and world-renowned Siesta Key Rum hosted a special tour and tasting for guests, paired with several incredible rum-infused dishes created by the exceptionally talented private chefs of Suncoast Cuisine and Italian Culinary Tours.
The distilling process is fascinating one, even better when described and narrated by the dynamic entrepreneurial owner/creator himself, Troy Roberts, and his captivating “chief scientist,” the omnipotent and engaging Kevin. Guests were given the opportunity to sample their variety of sugar-caned spirits and were given a few significant insights into their continued and rising success.
If you haven’t yet been to their facility, it is definitely worth visiting! Siesta Key Rum has knocked out and replaced many of the heavy hitters off store shelves, and for very good reason. The flavors are truly unmatched and crafted with considerable hands-on affection, hard work, and genuine attention to detail and sustainability. They have creatively managed to find ways to create other products to prevent waste and bring new and enjoyable edibles and items into the consumer market.
